I heard of Emily Wells just the other day after randomly talking about song covers with my roommate. Emily Wells who is a violinist/singer out of Texas is known for her merge of hip hop and classical and her use of less common instruments to create her unique sounding loops. After giving this song a listen I was won over by her unique cover of Juicy by the one and only Notorious B.I.G. The cover possesses dark sounding vocals from Wells over the top of an ominous sounding violin track and a simple thumping beat. Definitely give it a listen, Wells’ version brings a whole new vibe to “Juicy”, a very good one I must say.
