I’m not going to even lie, this was an artist I slept on. Even when seeing he made the recent XXL Freshman list I still paid no attention to him. I recently saw a somewhat new video of his song “Dreaming”, and I started to think that maybe I give this dude from the south a shot. I downloaded his ‘Return Of 4 Eva’ tape off of one of his personal sites HERE because I personally believe if you really want to get into an artist, give the whole album a spin. Let me tell you that this is Southern Hip-Hop at it’s finest. Judge me if you want, but this is Andre 3000 and Big Boi in their early days combined into one. I said it. Once I heard the song “The Vent” (posted below), I added it to the ‘Best Songs Ever Created’ list in my mind. Remember: this is music from the south, so it has a southern feel. Don’t get disappointed when you don’t hear that East Coast gritty hip hop beats from the 90′s. Long live the King Remembered In Time.
